Ian Frazier's book, On the Rez, is written in an informative tone, and though his narrative often follows a meandering path, he refrains from passing judgment on the Indians' lifestyle. Disregarding the prevalent notion that life on the reservation is bleak, Frazier presents anecdotes about his visits to Pine Ridge and shares historical accounts of various Indian-related events in a comical way, despite the fact that many subjects he broaches are quite sad.
