In Chapter Thirty-Four, Bri decides not to sing the pre-written, terrible song that Supreme and the record executive James Irving have selected for her. Instead, she sings a song she makes up on the spot about all the things that have happened to her and how she feels about being used and portrayed as something she is not. This decision appears to change the course of her life when in the Epilogue, she is recognized on social media by an unnamed, enormous music star in the genre who says she is the future of hip-hop.
