On Writing: A Memoir of the Craft

King was a heavy drinker and addicted to cocaine. He believed that these two elements contributed to his creativity. In terms of the chapter, C.V., do you think his belief was justified? Why or why not?

King's addictions probably did not add to his creativity. He showed his creativity early in his life before he became an addict by sending in stories to magazines, writing for his brother's newspaper, creating a satirical version of his school paper, and writing a sports column for the local paper.
