King offers sound advice even if it is skimpy. The grammar advice is solid. It is probably necessary for most writers to be 'honest' as writers. The advice to take writing seriously is certainly important for passionate writers. However, there are no profound thoughts on what writing is. Much of what King says has been said before by other writers or writing teachers.
