Tia Lola and Olga talk about Blanca abandoning her children and how Abuelita and Tia Lola had to be parents to her children. Tia Lola tells Olga that when she was born there were few choices for women. She could not have the type of life she wanted and marry. However, that did not mean she did not want to be a mother. She enjoyed being Olga's mother when Blanca left. It gave her a chance to be needed.
