Why do Lou and Oscar take credit for the success of the farm?

Lou and Oscar take full credit for the success of the farm because they are the ones who have always worked the land. Alexandra may have had the innovative ideas that made a success of the place, but Lou and Oscar were always the ones who physically put those plans into practice.
