Nothing Special
How does Mae describe the atmosphere in The Factory when Warhol is present in the novel, Nothing Special?
.
.
Mae notes that, whenever Warhol enters the studio, she feels “the atmosphere change… I felt it brighten as if suddenly everybody knew exactly where to direct the beam of their attention-seeking. His presence demanded a response although he didn’t do or say much. When he walked across the floorboards, people were quiet” (87).
