How does Mae describe the atmosphere in The Factory when Warhol is present in the novel, Nothing Special?

Mae notes that, whenever Warhol enters the studio, she feels “the atmosphere change… I felt it brighten as if suddenly everybody knew exactly where to direct the beam of their attention-seeking. His presence demanded a response although he didn’t do or say much. When he walked across the floorboards, people were quiet” (87).
