How did Will's father die?

Will's father saw a motorist stranded on the side of the road. He stopped his rig a few feet ahead of the disabled car and walked over to see if he could help. Another car came racing down the highway and ran into the disabled vehicle. The driver of that car pinned Will's dad between the cars and killed him.
