Ren is the Alpha male of the Bane back. His marriage to Cal has been arranged since their birth, and he appears to look forward to the union, despite the fact that he has fostered something of a ladies' man's reputation at the school. He seems to have strong feelings for Cal, but his life as an Alpha Guardian has made him fairly aggressive in his romantic pursuit of her, and he is not used to being rejected. He is very jealous of Shay and the time that the two spend together, and it is very possible that he expects the two have kissed at some point in the novel. By the end, he decides to help Cal, although he is clearly heartbroken and saddened by her rejection of him.
