Fellis projects his anger about college onto Meekew, as if Meekew is to blame for Fellis's failure in college. Fellis blames David for cheating at cards, when the truth is that Fellis is distracted and playing badly, and he does not apologize for lying and involving David in his fight with Meekew. Fellis even refuses to take responsibility for signing up for college in the first place, instead choosing to blame Beth for pressuring him into signing up.
