At the end of "Night of the Living Rez," how is David's mother's behavior similar to her behavior near the end of "Earth, Speak"?

When David's mother sees what has happened in the house, she immediately gathers her children to her and comforts them as one would do small children. They are her first concern, and her response is a nurturing one that demonstrates that no matter how old Paige and David get, they are still her "babies." This is similar to her response when she finds David sick in the boiler room in "Earth, Speak"--she has plenty of reason to be angry at him, but when he needs her, she immediately wraps him in a blanket and takes him inside so that she can take care of him.
