The language of this novel is modern, as it takes place within current times. The structure of the novel is very free flowing, allowing the reader to feel as if they are watching the events unfold. As the novel revolves around an active police investigation, an investigation that hopes to prevent the murders of more women, there are some specific references to police procedures and terms; however, the reader is able to easily determine the meaning of these passages through the context with which they are written.
