How does the author use foreshadowing in Night Fall?

In Chapter Five, the reader is given insight into the horrific tragedy of the crash. At the end of the chapter, Kate and John discuss a threat that most people are not aware of and discuss Osama Bin Laden...... foreshadowing the threat he prove to be to the United States.
