In conference with Diana and Dan, Dr. Madden comments that Diana's amount of memory loss following the electroshock treatment is unusual, but that memories lost in such a way generally do return, singing "Seconds and Years," almost playfully up-tempo. After Diana leaves, Dr. Madden urges Dan to find some triggers for her memory.
