What is the author's style in New York Dead by Stuart Woods?

The language is straightforward and easy for the reader to follow. Though there are scenes that occur in hospitals and within the police department, there is not an overuse of technical language that would bog the reader down. The author uses language easily understandable, creating a much more entertaining novel.
