Who is Father Jack from Mountains Beyond Mountains and what is their importance?

Father Jack was the priest at St. Mary of the Angels, in Roxbury, Massachusetts. Paul lived at St. Mary's while in medical school. When Father Jack left St. Mary's, he went to serve in the Peruvian village Carabayllo. The construction of a health care center was Father Jack's idea. Paul saw the contruction though, and even built the facility next door to the church.
