Who is Charley from Mountain Language and what is their importance?

Charley is Sara's husband and a prisoner at the fortress. Over the course of the play, it becomes evident that Charley loves his wife deeply and looks forward to their future after his release. At the end of the play, Charley collapses in front of his wife, exposing the fact that he'd been tortured.
