Failure and success is another theme. Bond is a gambler and therefore has had a fair amount of experience with winning and losing. He has determined that the pain of losing is normally worse than the joy of winning. He feels this after his card game with Drax. He defeats Drax but does not feel great about his win. Drax, on the other hand, obviously is quite angry about his loss. The emotion felt by losing is stronger than the emotion from winning.
