Importance of guns

Mr. Appleton and Robbie arrive inside of the store with guns. The children confiscate the guns and hide them. When Astrid finds Robbie attempting to rape Sahalia, she points one of the guns at Robbie. When Robbie and Brayden struggle over the gun, the gun goes off and accidentally shoots Brayden in the shoulder. Josie ends up picking up the other gun to shoot and kill Robbie.
