The novel "Money" by Martin Amis is written in a very urbane style. The novel concerns John Self, who is born and grows up in London, England. At the beginning of the novel, he comes to New York City to work on his film, alternately titled "Good Money" and "Bad Money." Therefore, much of the novel is set in an urban world, and the language reflects this. Some of the language Amis uses is very harsh, and he is not afraid to use profanities when he deems it necessary.
