How does the author use foreshadowing in Moccasin Trail?

In Chapter Nine, we see evidence of a close bond between Jim and Ben foreshadowed, as they learn from one another. Jim teaches Daniel surivival skills using Indian games, and Dan'l shares the first steps of literact with his brother. They may be very different..... but they are brothers. Their relationship will be a strong one.
