Mistress of Mellyn
How does Martha respond when Connan asks who should be "master of the house" in the novel, Mistress of Mellyn?
.
.
Questioned by Connan upon his proposal of marriage about who should be the "master of the house" Martha answers, "I do not think that either a husband or his wife should be master in that sense. I think they should work together and if one has an opinion which he or she feels to be the only right one, he or she should adhere to it."
