During the Revolutionary War, Alexander Hamilton serves as Washington's aide-de camp. In 1780 he writes a letter to a friend, expressing the need for a Constitutional Convention. In the years leading up to the Convention, he writes letters, makes speeches, and publishes newspaper articles arguing his position. He also proposes the convention in both the New York State Legislature and the Congress.
