Who is Mr. Minate from Midnight Predator and what is their importance?

Mr. Minate was Catherine's father.... the man who told her that she was a creator, not a user..... that she had every reason to be proud, and that no one could take that away from her unless she let them. Daryl killed Mr. Minate so he could enslave Catherine.
