Who is Goto and what is his role in the story entitled "An Independent Organ"?

Goto is Dr. Tokai's secretary, and he organizes Tokai's appointments and romantic dates so that Dr. Tokai never gets caught by a jealous husband, nor does he ever experience scheduling conflicts with the various women he dates. Goto delivers the news of Dr. Tokai's death to Dr. Tokai's friend, the unnamed narrator, along with a squash racket that Dr. Tokai had apparently wanted the narrator to have upon Dr. Tokai's death.
