Symbolism is not used in the memoir, Memories, Dreams, Reflections. In Chapter Seven, however, Jung does make mention of his interest in alchemy. Alchemy is defined as the science of experimentation. Its ultimate goal being to transform lead into gold. Alchemy is an ancient practice that is shrouded in mystery, and one of it's characteristic features an emerald green tablet. which displays a set of symbols that are of paramount importance to the science.
