What is the author's style in Many Lives, Many Masters by Brian L. Weiss?

The subject matter of this book is told in the first person, denoting the author's internal feelings and thoughts. He often expresses surprise at events. This is not overdone because four years have elapsed since he unearthed past life form of therapy with Catherine. Clearly he has digested the matter and when he conveys surprise, it is perhaps because this is how he expects readers to react.
