How does Serafina describe her mother, Esmeralda, to Reason in the novel, Magic or Madness?

Reason has always been told by Sarafina that Esmeralda is disturbed and evil. Sarafina claims that Esmeralda believes she is a witch and so carries out horrible rituals in the name of magic. Sarafina says that Esmeralda sacrificed her pet cat, Le Roi, and even killed orphan children. Sarafina's stories have frightened Reason, who now distrusts Esmeralda.
