This is another café in New York that Smith enjoys. She used to go there often when she first moved into the city, and she goes back a few times after Café ‘Ino closes. The walls are covered in printed murals of Florence and The Divine Comedy. Dante, the Italian poet who wrote The Divine Comedy, lived in Florence in the 13th and 14th century. Smith was intimidated by the place at first, when she could not afford to eat there. But she sat there drinking coffee and was surprised to find that nobody minded.
