How has Helga's opinion on China changed when she and Gallimard return to France?

They both seem to miss China in their own way. Helga has come to resent what France has become, an echo of the political and social upheaval in the East. Helga enjoyed her life of class while she was in China, and didn't have to face the social conflict there as much as she does in Paris.
