How does Amber deter Chubs' advances in the book, Lucky You: A Novel?

When Chubs and Bode attempt to rape Amber she tell them that she is Jewish. This does the trick and Bode makes Chub stop touching her because it goes against their beliefs to have sex with a woman who they consider does not come from a pure race.
