What is The Windshield?

The windshield is an object that Ani uses to symbolize the facade she wears to cover her real feelings. She says that Andrew’s (Mr. Larson’s) direct line to her feelings is a spider crack, symbolic of a flaw, in this facade. It is when Andrew (Mr. Larson) admits to Ani that he wants to do more than just talk to her that this facade crumbles.
