How do Valora and Jaime's feelings about their father differ in the novel, Luck of the Titanic?

Valora always felt her father did his best for the family, and Jamie is angry because Ba did not provide a better life for them. During the voyage, Valora learns that Jamie feels angry their father did not protect their, and she comes to realize their mother often kept her feelings bottled up.
