Love and Saffron is told in the first-person point of view and written primarily in an epistolary style. With the exception of Part Two, which is told in the traditional third-person point-of-view, the narrative is shared through letters between Joan and Imogen. This means that everything is told in the reflective past tense as both of these women are describing events that have already happened or pondering what has yet to come.
