In Lord of the Flies, what are some qualities of Jack?

Jack is actually a more effective leader than Ralph. Jack knows that the boys only respond to fear and intimidation. He uses this to his advantage. Jack is also a master manipulator who can play upon the fears and insecurities of the boys. Ralph offers a better way to live but the boys reject him.
