Simon is often regarded as a Christ figure in The Lord of the Flies. He does much to garner this accolade. First, he is given to selfless acts. Ralph comments on this at one point, saying that Simon helps everyone. At one point he stretches out his arms in a Christlike pose.
He also tends to have supernatural qualities. For example, he predicts that most of the boys will make it off of the island, but he somehow knows that he will not. When he dies, his body disappears, just as Christ's did. Lastly, Simon was tempted like Christ was by the 'lord of the flies'. And both were able to resist.
