What is Ringgold?

Ringgold is the small town in which Catherine Grace lives, and it symbolizes a small, enclosed place; whether or not this is a benefit changes for Catherine throughout the story. In the first half she sees it as confining and narrow, but in the end she realizes that is is a comfort and a support.
