What is the author's style in Living Dead in Dallas by Charlaine Harris?

The point of view of this novel is the first person. The novel is told completely through the first person narration of the main character, Sookie Stackhouse. Sookie is a barmaid in the south who happens to have the ability to read human minds. Sookie lives in a reality in which vampires exist and have chosen to go public with their existence. The novel is written as a chronicle of the events in Sookie's life that include her vampire and supernatural friends, as well as those humans she interacts with on a daily basis.

The point of view of this novel works because it presents the plot from a single viewpoint, keeping the plot simple and easy for the reader to understand.
