Why does Marvin travel to Honningsvåg in the novel, Little Eyes?

Marvon travels to Honningsvåg in order to see the snow. Feeling trapped in his life in Antigua, Marvin thinks adventuring into the virtual snow with SnowDragon will allow him a sense of liberation.
