How does Miranda's family celebrate Christmas?

On Christmas Eve, the family hangs tinsel and ornaments from the clothesline, and they call it their vertical Christmas tree. They later hear singing, bundle up, and go outside, where they see people caroling. They join the carolers, and the next day, Christmas day, they have a feast and exchange gifts.
