Ronald Clayton is a scientist. After years of research, he has now gathered enough information to create broadcast power. Clayton knows that if he goes public with his invention, there will be patent fights for many years because of his various affiliations with different companies. Thus, rather than dilute his credit and the money he would make, he decides to hold off revealing the existence of broadcast power until he can take full credit. When his son Thomas, however, learns about the invention, he can't see past the dollar signs and decides to sell the secret to Saudi Arabia. Thomas does this despite knowing they would never allow the power to become a reality.
