The painting on the ceiling of the Scuola dei Carmini, done by Tiepolo, is a symbol of the ease and natural affinity Zachary and Christine have with and for one another. Christine and Alex have been quarreling throughout the Venice trip, as they often are, and Christine is obviously moved by sharing this moment of beauty in the Scuola dei Carmini alone with Zachary. They both agree they have been thinking of their past together, and when Zachary propositions Christine, she agrees with little protest.
