Why is Stevie jealous of Susan Carol in Chapter 4? Who dissuades him from writing his article about MSU's player?

Weiss explains to Stevie who each of the players are, as well as who the other members who work for the team are. When Stevie looks at Susan Carol, he realizes he is jealous of her because she has already written her story, but Stevie still has to write his. Stevie wants to write about one of the Minnesota players, but Weiss deters him from doing so.
