Susan, Last Shot, is the other winner of the sports writer essay contest. She and Stevie strike up a friendship. It is her keen sense of curiosity, her ability to see connections, that allow both her and Stevie to solve the mystery surrounding the game. Her father is a preacher and she is extremely tall for her age (which makes her seem more mature than she really is).
