Steve Jurgenson, Last Shot, is the man who was passed over for the head coache's job. Wojenski suggests that the blackmailer and the one putting everyone in danger is Jurgenson. In the end, it is not Jurgenson, but Wojenski, Keeley, and Whiting, that are involved, and Jurgenson actually saves the kids from possible harm at the end of the book.
