Chip, Last Shot, is one of the star basketball players in the story. He is the one that is being blackmailed by two of his former professors at the college. Apparently he had failed two of their classes, which would have made him ineligible. In return for their silence they ask for Chip to throw the big game at the championship. Chip finally realizes that he's in over his head and confides in Stevie and Susan. All three of them join forces to investigate. He goes on to win the championship.
