How do Stevie and Susan Carol gain access to the floor with the players' rooms in Chapter 8?

When they run into one of the MSU staff, Jerry Ventura, he gives them his keycard to go to his room to get drinks. Susan Carol thinks he has a list of the rooms, so they plan to try to get his list to see which room is Chip's room.
