What is the importance of the colors green and yellow in the novel, Lady of the Lake?

The green and yellow colors Madame Claire sees in her visions symbolize human interconnectivity. While Maddie believes Madame Claire's insistence on these colors only forces the individual to make sense of them, the reader finds herself noticing how these colors recur in each the character's narratives.
