Who is Chanel Miller from the memoir, Know My Name?

Chanel Miller is the author of the memoir. On January 17, 2015 when the narrative begins, Miller is 22 years old and living with her parents in Palo Alto, California, working her first job out of college at an education startup. She attends a fraternity party on the campus of Stanford University with her sister, Tiffany, after which she is sexually assaulted while unconscious by a student and member of the school's swim team, Brock Turner. Miller recounts what she remembers of this experience and everything that followed over the course of the next year and a half during Turner's criminal trial. This includes suffering from symptoms of PTSD, contending with criticism from Turner's defense, the media, and people posting comments online, and tremendous loneliness and isolation as she refrains from telling most people in her life about the ordeal.
