Know My Name
What is the author's tone in the memoir, Know My Name?
.
.
Throughout the memoir, Miller's tone alternates between poignantly confessional and righteously indignant as she recounts her personal experience and the broader implications of what her experience says about how sexual assault victims are treated by society. Miller knows that there are many, many assault victims who do not even get the opportunity to face their attacker in court, and the outrage she felt in response to this fact fueled her through the ordeal of her trial and the process of writing this book.
